SUMMERY

• Dates: 21-22 February 2022, back-to-back with the 75th Inland Transport Committee Anniversary (84th session)
• Audience: UN Member States and partners, political leaders, participants to the 75th ITC Anniversary, organisations for road safety, young people, general public
• Production: Laser International Foundation  (LIFE), in collaboration with the UN Road Safety Found (UNRSF) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

OBJECTIVES

• Promote increased engagement in road safety cooperation at the global, national and local levels
• Raise awareness of road safety issues, in particular to young generations
• Develop an outreach programme for the 75th Inland Transport Committee Anniversary (84th session).
• Advocacy for global, national and private investments in the field of road safety to promote greater mobilisation of funds for road safety, including for the UNRSF
• Promote United Nations road safety legal instruments
• Contribute to build relevant content for the UNRSF website.
• Promote the activities and work of UNRSF, LIFE, UNECE and partners
• Encourage individual donations to the UNRSF
• Encourage funding and donations for capacity-building activities on road safety legal instruments in low and middle-income countries

Main road safety priorities

• Vulnerable road users and pedestrian safety
• Safety devices: helmet use, seatbelts, child restraint system
• Alcohol and drugs
• Emergency relief
• Smart and safe infrastructure
• Sustainable mobility
• Smart and safe vehicles
• I.T.S. applications to road infrastructure and vehicles
• Specific policies related to road safety in LMI countries
• Inclusive road safety policies in unprivileged areas
• UNRSF – project results and the tangible difference

The International jury

The international jury would see high representatives of Road safety policies, Distinguished experts in visual communication campaigns, as well as personalities of the Media world.

The process is the following:

1. All the videos in competition are sumitted bythe filmmakers on the Global Road Safety Film Festival platform.
2. The call start on 1st October 2021, deadline 21st January 2022
3. Pre-selection of the best videos is made by the Selection Committee
4. LIFE office proceed to a pre-scrutiny of the received material, according to the technical quality (sound, sound design, image editing), the appropriateness of the language and of the staged acting, the effectiveness of the message (clarity and relevance of the message to the target adaptation, quality and originality of the script) as well as the reproducibility in different languages.   
5. One month before the Festival, the selected films are communicated to the Jury members.
